Moving Toward Gender Diversity in the Boardroom
Join the 2020 Women on Boards/New York Chapter to discuss this year's strategic question:
"What will it take for the U.S. to become a global leader in the advancement of women to company boards?"
2020 Women On Boards is a national campaign dedicated to increasing the percentage of women on US corporate boards to 20% or greater by 2020. The campaign redefines successful corporate governance, gender diversity standards, and creates a cultural imperative for corporate action. www.2020wob.com
Each year 2020 Women on Boards organizes a Conversation to advance the discussion on how to achieve better female representation in corporate boardrooms. Events occur across the United States, as well as in other countries.
The conversation this year also coincides with the:
- New York City Pension Funds Filing of 75 Proxy Access Shareowner Proposals to Kick Off the Boardroom Accountability Project just last week
- Upcoming 20-year commemoration of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA), which focuses, in part, on the importance of having women in the highest possible level of economic decision-making and leadership. In recognition of the BPfA, the New York National Conversation will include an international focus on female representation in the boardroom
We hope you can be part of the dialogue and work, and look forward to seeing you on Thursday, November 20, 2014.
