Senior Advisor

"Fail to honor people;
They fail to honor you.
But of a good leader
When his work is done, his aim fulfilled
They will all say,
"We did this ourselves."
- Lao-tzu

Ed McDougal has 25 years of experience in corporate management and executive leadership in both line and staff positions. He has a well-documented track record of having created highly productive work environments during his career. Ed's first-hand knowledge of the intricacies of navigating corporate "whitewater" is invaluable in his interactions with senior executives as an Advisor.

Ed sees Advising as a highly interactive process based on forthrightness and trust. It is a mutual exploration seeking to create new options and pathways for successful corporate leadership.

"As an executive at several major banks, my goal was not to exercise power, but to release the power of those I worked with; not to be perceived as successful, but to create environments where everyone could succeed. I try to bring this same philosophy to my Advisorship™ role.

I once told a senior executive that he needed to realize that when he sneezed the entire organization took out a handkerchief. And yet, while so closely observed at every level of the organization, he rarely receives unvarnished information. Few have the courage to tell it 'like it is.' Most senior leaders have almost no real knowledge of how customers experienced their organization on a daily basis.

I receive the highest satisfaction from seeing successful executives not just be more successful but more satisfied with their accomplishments because they see everyone in their organization feeling successful."
- Edward McDougal

Ed has advised senior executives at companies including McGraw-Hill, Time Warner Cable, Morgan Stanley, Swiss Re, Banc Julius Baer, Agfa and Xerox.
