WJM’s Leadership Discovery Program
What distinguishes the best companies in the world is not the quality of their top executives, but rather the consistency of developing high performing leaders throughout the organization.
WJM believes there is a compelling business case for effectively identifying and managing the development and career experiences of an organization’s high potential executives. Research shows that organizations that focus intensively on developing leaders build higher levels of employee engagement, commitment and trust. More importantly, they achieve higher levels of business performance as measured by customer satisfaction metrics, market share, and financial performance.
WJM Associates realizes the importance of continued investment in developing leaders, even with the existence of serious budget or time constraints. Therefore, WJM offers the targeted Leadership Discovery for groups of High-Potential executives. Our program features a powerful Assessment process (with or without 360° interviews) and experienced assistance in formulating a practical and focused personal development plan for each High-Potential executive. This can be supplemented by a targeted two-month Executive Coaching program for ensuring successful completion of the plan.

Highlights of this High-Potential development program include:
Leadership Assessment, Leadership Proficiency Evaluation™ & Developmental Planning
WJM faculty will conduct an interview with the executive and his/her manager focusing on perceived strengths and developmental opportunities. Following the interviews, WJM will recommend the most appropriate online assessment instrument to utilize with the executive. WJM most often uses the 16PF, MBTI®, or Hogan suite of assessment tools.
The result of the interviews and assessments will be summarized in a Leadership Proficiency Evaluation™ and delivered to the executive in a feedback session with his/her manager. During this session, a development plan will be agreed upon, focusing on the 2 to 3 major developmental opportunities resulting from the assessment and interviews. The executive going through this process will better understand his or her natural tendencies as well as his or her leadership style, often for the first time.
360° Assessment (Optional)
WJM faculty will gather 360° data from the executive’s managers, peers and direct reports. The goal of the 360° assessment is to share with the executive how other colleagues perceive and experience the executive.
- Interviews can be done face-to-face, or by the telephone, with up to 8 individuals
- For a broader audience, an online 360° survey can be utilized
Execution & Targeted Coaching
WJM faculty will provide targeted coaching to the executive focusing on a few well defined developmental objectives over a two month period. The coaching will be delivered through a combination of face-to-face and phone sessions.
